Admission Appeals
National Offer Day (Reception)
For Reception admissions made as part of the normal admissions round, National Offer Day is 16 April.
Key statutory deadlines
Based on a 16 April offer date, the timetable will operate as follows:
- Deadline to lodge an appeal
Parents/carers must be given at least 20 school days from the date of refusal to lodge an appeal.- Offer letter issued: 16 April
- Appeal deadline (20 school days): 15 May
- Notice of appeal hearing
Parents/carers must receive at least 10 school days’ notice of the appeal hearing date.
- Deadline to hear appeals (normal admissions round)
Appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline.- Appeal deadline: 15 May
- Latest date appeals must be heard: on or around early July – will will aim for the end of June
- Decision letters
Written decision letters will be sent within 5 school days of the hearing, wherever possible.
Other appeal types
The Trust will adhere to statutory deadlines for:
- Late applications
- In‑year admissions
- Any appeals submitted after the published deadline
All late appeals will still be heard in accordance with the Trust’s published timetable.
